adidas and TFF Bring Anatolia’s Colors to Turkish Football Pitches
adidas and the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) have introduced the official football for the 2026-2027 season, combining Anatolia’s artistic heritage with the demands of modern professional football. The new ball will be used in league and cup matches played under the TFF umbrella and stands out with a design inspired by the traditional Turkish art of ebru.
Known internationally as marbling, ebru is characterized by fluid patterns created on the surface of water before being transferred to paper. Its flowing lines and unpredictable forms have been reinterpreted for the football pitch, reflecting the movement, energy and rhythm of the game.
The ball was developed through a joint effort by the design teams of adidas and the Turkish Football Federation. Created specifically for Turkish competitions, it is the first official TFF match ball to feature distinctive Turkish motifs. The design combines the dynamic appearance of ebru with turquoise shades and Türk Kırmızısı, also known as Edirne Red.
This color palette gives the ball a strong visual identity while connecting it to Türkiye’s cultural history. Rather than relying solely on a modern sports aesthetic, the design presents football as a meeting point between tradition, national identity and contemporary performance technology.
Cultural heritage meets professional technology
The new TFF match ball is manufactured to FIFA Quality Pro standards, making it suitable for the highest level of professional competition. Its construction has been developed to provide consistent handling, reliable flight characteristics and durability throughout demanding matches.
Thermal Bonding technology is used to join the panels without traditional stitching. This structure helps create a smoother outer surface and supports a more stable trajectory. It also reduces water absorption, allowing the ball to maintain dependable performance in changing weather conditions.
The ball retains a classic 32-panel configuration, a design intended to promote balance and predictable movement. Its high-performance polyurethane outer layer contributes to resistance against wear, while the internal construction is designed to withstand the repeated impact associated with professional football.
An EPDM foam layer and reinforced carcass provide additional stability and resilience. The rubber bladder helps maintain optimal air pressure, reducing the need for frequent adjustments and supporting consistent performance during training sessions and competitive fixtures.
Designed for control, speed and accuracy
The aerodynamic structure of the ball is intended to improve flight stability. This can contribute to greater control over speed, direction and passing accuracy, particularly during long balls, crosses and set pieces.
A predictable flight path is especially important in professional football, where small differences in trajectory can influence the outcome of a decisive moment. The ball’s construction therefore focuses not only on appearance but also on creating a reliable response when struck with different parts of the foot.
Its balanced structure is designed to support a range of playing styles. Short passes, powerful shots and controlled set pieces all require a ball that reacts consistently. By combining a stable panel layout with modern internal materials, the new TFF ball aims to meet those expectations across different match situations.
A distinctive identity for the 2026-2027 season
The introduction of the ball gives the upcoming Turkish football season a recognizable visual symbol. Its ebru-inspired pattern separates it from conventional match-ball designs and emphasizes the connection between national football and local cultural values.
The use of turquoise and Edirne Red reinforces this identity without compromising the ball’s professional appearance. These colors provide contrast on the pitch and highlight the flowing motifs that define the design.
The partnership between adidas and the TFF also demonstrates how sporting equipment can serve a broader purpose. A football can be engineered for speed, balance and durability while also reflecting the history and artistic traditions of the country where it is used.
For players, the technical specifications are central to the match experience. For supporters, however, the visual language of the ball creates another link with Turkish culture. As it appears in stadiums throughout the season, the design is expected to become one of the defining images of the 2026-2027 campaign.
The ball is already being used on football pitches across Türkiye, bringing together Anatolia’s cultural heritage and contemporary sports technology. Its combination of ebru-inspired artwork, national colors and FIFA Quality Pro construction gives the new season an identity built on both tradition and innovation.
